Quick brainstorm: . ..intuition or anxiety…(or both). The lines are blurred aren’t they?! I have no doubt that there are times that my positive/optimistic personality often times carries over to the naïve…and this is where the anxiety lies. Boy have I had a whopping wake-up call or two that people certainly are hard-wired differently! Good thing that my inner core is grounded in self love and trust for my own self worth. … In thinking about intuition, and how it’s been effective in my life, I am wondering if it has less to do with mystical energy than a receptivity centered on empathy. This is helpful, because when negativity comes my way, I am more prepared to deal with it. Possibly that uncomfortable feeling in my gut (the intuition) is the disconnect between the empathy being felt (the negativity) and my positive inner core.
Each day is special, and I am thankful to have so many positive people in my life! :)

diary entry 1/8/10
January 8, 2010 - Snowy morning, thought that the school I was visiting this morning would have closed, but not even a delay. Great students at Rhinebeck!
Then, needed to hike over to DMV in Kingston - and can you believe that I made it out of there in 15 minutes!!! I can officially drive my parent's car which I purchased. First time owning a car with a CD player, and of course I can only listen to the Bee Gees since its stuck in there...thanks Pops. The joke is on me!
After DMV, something pretty significant happened. I finalized my "Last Will and Testament" and my helath care proxy at my attorney's office. What a relief knowing that things are in place. While walking back to my car in a snow shower, we celebrated at a hot dog stand - can't walk past a sabrett hot dog (with onion sause)....then off to work!!
Picked up Alan early from "aftercare", and he fell asleep at 7pm. I was looking forward to wrapping up the day with him my cuddling up with a book....but ZZZZZZZZZZ.
Feeling thankful, tired, and a little worried about Alan...(complained of tummy hurting and its uncharacteristic of him to fall asleep so early)....

The Meatloaf Factor.....
January 7, 2010 - With 10 minutes to spare this morning, I could have checked facebook or email...(or warmed up my car)... Instead, I made meatloaf. While thawing out the meat, I unloaded the dishwasher and brushed my teeth and actually had the bowl with eggies and breadcrumbs all ready. Already dressed and not sure if we even own an apron, I rolled up my sleeves and started mixing it all up with my bare hands…hoping not to spill anything on myself, for I had a presentation in less than 40 minutes!!! And I did it!!! Yeah for me!! Something to look forward to....meatloaf!
Then, I proceeded to my presentation which was on college and career planning at a local high school, and as usual, I asked them...”what words come to mind when you hear the word SUCCESS”. Heard the typical answers....money, family, happiness, meatloaf (what?)...I actually couldn’t get the word “meatloaf!” out of my head!! Yes, how things change when one turns 40...I felt successful this morning getting a meatloaf made!!! I am sure there is a profound metaphor mixed in the meatloaf somewhere....LOL
ANYWAY.....Tomorrow: seems funny to be excited about signing one's will, but that's what's happening....will sleep better at night now that this is done...and since I'll be in Kingston, I'll be stopping over to the DMV to get Bootie's car on the road, as my stratus is an eyesore.....and of course this is all after my morning presentation at Rhinebeck HS again...I better catch some ZZZZZZZZZZs....goodnite folks...Merry Meatloaf!!!! :)

Bye-Bye Sweetie!!!
Bye Bye Sweetie! Mixed feelings with taking the Christmas tree down last night! Though the toy train didn’t stay on the track, the tinsel was a little sparse, I have to admit that this year was my favorite tree EVER! Maybe it was the fusion of ornaments from our blended family’s heritage or how Alan choose the tree, but there was something definately special about this year's tree. FYI - "Sweetie" is what Alan named the tree.
Anyway, about to watch the sunrise from the living room window....(and still missing those tree lights)....have a great day!!!:) Michelle

Christmas FUN!!!! December 14th

The holiday season doesn't get any more wholesome than caroling with the girl scouts at a senior residence...with hot chocolate and brownies...and with 7 boys all under the age of 7...and we live to tell about it!!! Alan was a bit of a handful, and was more interested in playing with his "one horse open siegh", but he said his favorite part of the afternoon was his friend "Ben-Ben", then quickly changed his mind to..."the brownie" ----
